Dustin Martin

Boston, MA

My name is Dustin Martin and am a young(ish) professional working in Higher Education. A majority of my work has been in Residence Life but I always find ways to branch out and experience different aspects of a college environment. I attended Shawnee State University where I received my bachelor degree in Sociology. I did my graduate work at The University of Akron where I received my Masters in Higher Education Administration. My passion for student affairs comes from my interactions with students and working on different diversity initiatives.

There have been some large differences between working in New England and living in the Midwest but everything I have experienced has been a learning experience for me.

My strengths (according to Strengths Quest) are adaptability, positivity, woo, communication, and includer. I look at the silver lining of life and deal with obstacles that are thrown at me with flexibility and a smile.

One of my proudest achievements in my career was the creation of the "This Is Me!" campaign at Quinnipiac University. I am the producer of two videos that were created for the campaign.

Outside Higher Ed I am an avid basketball player and the Assistant Commissioner for the Boston Gay Basketball League.
