Dustin Volz

Dustin Volz is a print-oriented journalist attending Arizona State University's Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication in Phoenix, Arizona.

Dustin was born in Evansville, Indiana before moving to Media, Pennsylvania, where he attended Penncrest High School. He was co-captain of Penncrest's academic Hi-Q team and a contributor to both the school newspaper and literary magazine. Upon graduation in 2008, Dustin earned distinction as a National Merit Scholar and was awarded a full scholarship to attend Arizona State University.

Dustin lives and works in Phoenix where he has garnered a diversity of experience writing for various print and online publications. He has covered the state legislature for the Arizona Capitol Times, freelanced for DowntownDevil.com and writes a weekly column for ASU's student newspaper, The State Press. He has also worked in ASU's Office of Public Affairs as a special projects associate. Currently, Dustin is a multi-purpose intern at The Arizona Republic, where he has assisted with online content management and copy editing.

Dustin is also studying American history at ASU, with a focus on media coverage of modern warfare and diplomacy. Dustin expects to graduate in May 2012 with a bachelor's degree in journalism, a master's degree in mass communication and a bachelor's degree in history.
