Life-long resident of the Beautiful Hudson Valley. From a very early age, I was always interested in "how things work?". Memories from my very young childhood years, experimenting in my room, taking things apart, and sometimes, putting back together again. So as usual, my First few jobs from 12-14 were apprenticeships with a very knowledgeable Maintenance Man for a group of summer homes around the Sylvan Lake area, where I was taught about everything from Landscaping to Roofing to Plumbing and Water Treatment, not to forget to mention a very manly outlook on the importance of hard work. These being some of the most informative years of my career, working with one single, humble, self taught, under-appreciated maintenance man. Thanks DD. ;-) From then on, every job as a teen bounced from one trade to the next, quickly learning all I could from the supervising teacher, then putting my own spin on the lessons learned. Then, as usual, moving on to the next opportunity of new information. By the time I was 18, I was a father. It was soon becoming time to use all that I had learned and invested in, and start up SJB HOME SERVICES. A young, fresh, motivated for hard work and to do the right thing by my customers, residential Service and Improvement Company . I will say it was very difficult at first to be taken seriously at such a young age, but I learned that instead of selling the job to a client, based around pricing or quality, I first had to sell "myself" to them. Soon I realized that most were impressed that such a young man, still a teen, had the knowledge and motivation to "work hard" instead of having the typical "play hard" attitude. From then on I have grown to gain experience in A booming New Construction industry, residential and commercial, then the crash and burn of our economy. Feeling the huge ups and downs of the construction industry, And for the most part having been the sole employee, making SURE one thing, I WON'T BE RETIRING EARLY
