Dutch Lamons

Dutch Lamons is currently a sophomore attending Texas Christian University (TCU) in Fort Worth, where he studies communications. He has been taking part in a work/study program while he works toward his Bachelor of Arts, serving as a Lifeguard for the school since September of 2010. In addition, Dutch Lamons volunteers at the KinderFrogs School at TCU, an early childhood program designed to provide students with experience teaching children, focusing on those with disabilities. At the KinderFrogs School, Dutch Lamons takes part in toddler, pre-kindergarten, and L.E.A.P. classes, working primarily with children who have Down syndrome. Previously, at Corona del Mar High School in Newport Beach, California, Dutch Lamons not only participated in football but also managed to maintain a high GPA and enjoy extracurricular activities. He took part in the Constitutional Rights Foundation, Orange County, where he acted as a peer court juror and learned about the juvenile court system. During that time, Dutch Lamons evaluated high school students who had committed non-violent crimes and proposed sentences for them. In addition, he took part in the Best Buddies International program, mentoring developmentally challenged high school students and attending outings such as bowling, movies, and prom with them. Dutch Lamons also garnered many accolades and awards during his varsity football career in high school. He proudly wore the number 33 on the field and maintained a GPA of 3.8 during the 2007 season, which earned him the Scholar Athlete award. Additionally, Dutch Lamons took his place among the Southern Section Winners in 2005; made the CIF Quarterfinals in 2006; was named a Kamikaze Special Teams Designation Winner in 2007; won the title of Silver Raider Team Leader that same year, and became a Defensive Squad Captain and Black Watch Leader in 2008. Besides playing football and taking part in other sports, Dutch Lamons enjoys a variety of other personal interests. He likes to play the drums, listen to Irish music, practice sign language, travel, lift weights, and wakeboard.
