Dave Adams
Mechanical Design Engineer in Belmont, California
I decided from a very early age that I loved creating and building things. Often, I learned how to build by taking things apart. At first this was somewhat upsetting to my parents, but eventually they learned how to take advantage of it.
When it became time for me to choose a course of study, they encouraged me to take up Engineering. I didn't know much about the field at that time, other than "you need to be good at Math and Science".
After 30+ years in the field, here's how I explain what Engineers do:
Engineers figure out how to make things that nobody knows how to make, then they teach other people how to make them.
And that's exactly what I do.
