As a Certified Financial Planner professional (CFP), Dwayne Rettinger considers one of his greatest responsibilities that of ensuring that clients are making smart and sound financial decisions that are grounded in rigorous financial planning.
This has been his mission for the last decade as a Certified Financial Planner professional with IG Wealth Management. Whether clients are facing major purchases, saving for retirement, or managing the everyday risks of running a business, Dwayne Rettinger aims to make sure they are never exposed to unnecessary financial risk.
As an Executive Financial Consultant at IG Wealth Management, Dwayne leads a team that works with individuals, business owners and executives on the spectrum of financial planning and investment decisions to help them build and protect their wealth. Dwayne’s financial planning service areas include investment and retirement planning, group retirement plans, estate planning, cash management and tax planning.
Dwayne began with IG Wealth Management, providing wealth and risk management services to individuals and small businesses. Later, as a Division Director, he was charged with recruiting and managing talented financial professionals to meet Canada’s growing demand for quality financial planning.
Dwayne joined IG Wealth Management after serving as Managing Director at BearingPoint, where he led the firm’s Canadian Commercial Services practice.
BearingPoint was a major management consultancy whose origins were in the consulting operations of KPMG, where Dwayne held various positions, moving from Senior Consultant to Senior Manager and then making partner and Vice President.
He served at Deloitte Canada and Eli Lilly Canada in the early half of his career.
Dwayne Rettinger earned his Certified Financial Planner designation through Canada’s Financial Planning Standards Council (FPSC). He is a member of the FPSC Presidents List for having placed in the top 1 percent of CFP exam candidates in Canada in 2009, the year he took his exam.
Dwayne earned his MBA from Wilfrid Laurier University in Ontario after receiving his Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Waterloo. He and his wife and three children reside in Oakville. He is an active community member, serving as a hockey coach and also playing a role with United Way fundraising.
