Derek Werdenberg

Derek Werdenberg is a Florida native, growing up in the suburbs of north Florida and attended the University of Central Florida (UCF). He graduated with his Marketing degree in 2012. During his time at UCF, he assisted in several philanthropic events through the inter-fraternity counsel and Honors programs. He also lead efforts with UCF's to convert the infrastructure to Google for Work as the Google Student Ambassador for UCf over 2 years.
In 2010 and 2011, Derek was a summer intern for Google and YouTube as part of the Google BOLD program specializing in market research, advertising, and project management. During the summer of 2011, Google sponsored Derek to attend Harvard Business School (HBS) as part of the Summer Venture in Management Program (SVMP) working on 1st and 2nd year HBS case studies and programs. This thought exercise in helped Derek early in his career to begin to think critically about the world and where he can make the biggest positive impact.
In 2012, Derek transplanted himself from Florida to California as a full time Googler overseeing North America advertising customer support infrastructure which allows SMB's to optimize their advertising efforts, hire employees, and feed their families. He maintains global partnerships to ensure all processes, product launches, and prioritization's are executed in a way that is best for both, the customer and business.
Currently, Derek works in a specialized team within Global Operations working directly with Product and Engineering teams to build, from scratch, a new CRM platform supporting thousands of global agents and several million customers.
In his spare time, Derek enjoys traveling to far, magical places, trying weird foods, backpacking, driving his car and motorcycle along the coast, and attempting to keep the house standing while cooking new foods.
