Dwight Jones
Musician and Artist in Toronto, Ontario, Canada
Born on the island of Barbados, Dwight is a young jazz saxophonist in the early stages of his professional career.While there he has performed with some of the Caribbean' s best musician including Luther Francois , Stefan Walcott and Andre Woodvine. Currently Dwight resides in Toronto, Canada where he has recently completed his B.F.A in jazz at York University under Sundar Viswanathan, Ryan Oliver, Ron Westray , Lorne Lofsky and Mark Eisenman. While at York he was a member of the acclaimed York Dance Ensemble as one of their musicians as well as the Renaissance jazz ensemble which was led by Ryan Oliver and sponsored by the Ontario Arts Counil. Dwight was recently featured on Jazz F.M’s jazzology ; a radio program that showcases the talents of selected up and coming musicians across Toronto.
Currently Dwight freelances around toronto as well as a co-leader for a current jazz trio project simply known as DDJ+.
