Numbers are a human language so we all have the ability to understand it. Quite some time ago, a writing class taught me that the art of effective communication consists of simplicity, clarity, and elegance. These qualities have stuck in my mind ever since and have become the bedrock of my teaching style.
Mathematics and Physics have a reputation of being hard to understand. Whenever I tell people I am a Physicist, their first response is always something like “Physics is hard” or “I did not do well in Physics”. Similarly, the mere mention of the word “Calculus” melts the heart. Even though Mathematics and Physics are intimidating, many students still choose to take the challenge because they intuitively know that the process is good for them.
Students who do well in these courses tend to do well in everything else; meaning, Mathematics and Physics are good education even when a student doesn’t plan to pursue careers in these fields. At the same time, no one wants to fail. It is why students seek help to turn challenge into success. I facilitate learning by providing materials and an environment for the students to discover knowledge for themselves.
I'm able to guarantee the service that I provide since I have honed my critical thinking and problem-solving skills beyond standards with degrees in Physics and Electrical Engineering from top tier universities. It is this same skill set that I aim to pass along to all of my students. Please send me a message if you'd like more information.
Check out one of my favorite projects I had the pleasure of contributing to in Electrical Engineering with Dr. Lakshmi Jagannathan during her time at UC Berkeley! https://www2.eecs.berkeley.edu/Pubs/TechRpts/2012/EECS-2012-84.pdf
