Social Studies Teacher in Saranac Lake, New York

My mission is to inspire others and leave the world a better place. I fulfill this mission as an educator, community organizer and advocate.

I believe in the transformative power of education, and community. It's why I continue teaching while also seeking opportunities to build and support community.

As an educator, I teach social studies at Saranac Lake High School. In economics classes, students learn not only supply and demand, but a comprehensive personal finance unit that has repeatedly been referred to as the “most important thing I learned in high school” by students when stopping back to visit. In Participation in Government classes, students learned to embrace their civic power to the point of having a visit from Lieutenant Governor Delgado in response to their feedback on the governor's executive budget proposal.

Prior to Saranac Lake I spent three years honing a comprehensiveGlobal History & Geography Curriculum at Heuvelton Central School. In which I integrated exploring content with learning technology, and developing close reading and writing skills.

I take full advantage of the natural splendor of the Adirondacks. I run, hike, cycle, and paddle throughout the park.
