DEATH ZONE: Cleaning Mount Everest

Hi - I am a feature documentary. I grew up in Nepal, but am in Los Angeles right now. I'm going back to Nepal at the end of April, 2011! - CANNOT WAIT FOR THE WORLD TO SEE ME.

I'm a story told by 20 Sherpa climbers who take on the impossible mission of restoring Mount Everest - the world's highest garbage dump. Who would have thought that over 100,000 pounds of garbage and 150 dead bodies rest on Earth's highest point!? Not cool.

Everest climbing guide, Namgyal Sherpa, and journalist, Chakra Karki, made me when they confronted the fact that their sacred mountain is a trash dump and graveyard.

Get this - Everest stands as the ultimate source of water (almost 1.3 billion people. Crazy, huh) and with some of it's glaciers melting, that trash and those bodies are decaying into the water. For people who live on/under Mount Everest - chances are they drink that polluted runnoff at some point. I can show you people who get sick from it.

I depict

  • crazy dangerous climbing
  • the beauty and fury of Mount Everest
  • environmental cleanup

For me to become reality - I NEED YOUR SUPPORT DZMovie Website - that means likes on Facebook, watches on Youtube, retweets on Twitter, and all that other social media stuff the world is buzzing about. I'm not all talk - watch my trailer on YouTube!

Some great musicians made music for me! More to come on that. I also speak Nepali, but have English subtitles - so there's a little something for everyone.

Decades of irresponsible climbing have turned the Death Zone of Everest into a dump. Watch me do something about it!

PS if you really want to help, we're continuing to restore Everest and need $$$ to make it happen - learn & give more HERE
