Eric Cho

Hello, I’m Eric. I’m a student at Chapman University, in Orange, California. I study English and Education, and I plan on teaching high school English in the future. Accordingly, I am greatly interested in English and passionate about Education. I have tutored since high school in many subject areas through a tutoring program set up by the school. This ignited my passion of teaching and education, which I was fortunate enough to continue to cultivate in college. Currently, I work at Pace Academy, an after-school program, as an English teacher.

Something I love about my current work is that I work with students by paying attention to their needs and their individual "pace" of learning. Since the classroom is relatively small (15-20 students), I am able to spend time with students individually and get a strong understanding of how they are doing in school. We work at the students' pace by empowering and encouraging them to be comfortable with where they are, and at times, we will challenge them to take on more difficult tasks to expand their capacities. This reflects my philosophy of education, a philosophy that focuses on the students' individual needs.
