Eamon Diehl
Student in Athens, Georgia
What’s up, I’m Eamon Diehl. I’m a student living in Athens, Georgia. I am a 5th year senior Computer Science major, planning to graduate in December 2017. I am the second youngest of five siblings, with two older sisters, one older brother, and a younger sister. My dad was in the Army, so we moved around a lot growing up, living in 6 states and 6 cities before settling in Augusta, Georgia when I was 14. I graduated from Lakeside High school in May 2012, and began attending UGA that Fall.

This past month we have covered a wide variety of material, from the different categories of business communication to what is the appropriate form of visual to use for a particular situation. We created our Community of Leaders, and came up with the focus for our service learning projects. We learned how to, and drafted a memo for our project. We looked at how culture, ethnic background, and other things influence the way communication is perceived. And how to try to prevent possible misunderstandings. We covered how visuals can be an extremely useful way to share ideas and communicate with others. We created a visual to be used for a theoretical job fair, in order to gain interest in low-level production careers. Learning how to use the mySimpleShow web app was pretty interesting, and useful.
