Elissa Redmiles

Austin, Tx

Newly minted (2013) B.S. in Computer Science from UMD.

Resistant to entering the workforce as a software developer, I've been wandering around (my mind) trying to determine what to do with my life.

Currently, I work at IBM as a Market Segment Manager. Formerly, I worked at the UMD Dept. of Computer Science writing, helping start the Center for Women in Computing & creating this.

Ended up at IBM after deciding between the Harvard School of Education, Facebook & MIT Lincoln Labs.

Life is an adventure, tech is more of one.

Read on to find out about my adventures and misadventures interviewing for weird jobs (@ google, facebook, amazon, microsoft...), trying to decide whether to go to graduate school & if so, what for; what it's like to go to a computer science conference; and more.
