Emily Austin Smith

Emily Austin Smith is a cellist and teacher in the Baltimore area. She holds bachelors degrees in English literature and Cello Performance from the Peabody Institute of The Johns Hopkins University, where she is continuing her studies as a Master of Music candidate in performance and pedagogy. Emily has taught for the Bridges Orchestra Program, the Baltimore Symphony's OrchKids, and the Carroll County String Project. She currently performs with the Occasional Symphony, the Peabody Symphony Orchestra, and the Peabody Camerata, and has studied and attended music festivals all over the U.S. She also participates regularly in Baltimore's Classical Revolution. When she's not performing, teaching, or practicing, Emily loves playing with her muppet-like dog Lily and reading in the park.
