Emily Bean

I am from a small town in Upstate New York, but I currently live in Provo, Utah, USA. Languages and teaching have always been some of my strong interests, and pursuing these has led me on a fulfilling academic and professional path to a BA in Linguistics (2014) and current MA TESOL studies at Brigham Young University. I have ESL teaching experience in private tutoring, adult education, and intensive English programs in the United States and abroad.

My research interests include the development and implementation of tools for effective vocabulary acquisition. My MA thesis project involves the creation of Quizlet flashcards for words from the Academic Vocabulary List to help students meet the challenges of learning words most frequently used in academic settings.
