Claire Macdonald grew up on an apiary in the sunny Okanagan Valley and is now completing her fourth year as a Creative Writing student at the University of Victoria. In 2013, she took a year to study abroad at the University of East Anglia in Norwich, England. Norwich, a UNESCO City of Literature, offered Claire a dynamic literary scene in which she quickly became involved. Through the Norwich Writers’ Centre she was given the opportunity to teach weekly writing workshops to disadvantaged youth.

Claire specializes in poetry and creative nonfiction but her love of writing and reading extends to include all forms of the written word. She is especially partial to daring acts of surrealism and the avant-garde.

Claire is currently the Marketing and Promotions Assistant at The Malahat Review and the Poetry Editor at The Warren Undergraduate Review.
