EcoHouse Brazil

A number of factors are prompting investors to consider investment in Brazil. In particular, confidence is growing in Brazil as a result of the future hosting of two very important events. In 2014, Brazil will host the FIFA World Cup, and in 2016, they will host the Olympic Games. These two significant events will draw significant revenue for the country, and have already stimulated interest from foreign investment companies. Presently, analysts estimate that, for every 10 billion dollars invested in South America, 8 billion are going to Brazil. These factors are why EcoHouse Group decided to begin operations in the country. In particular, the owner of the company, Anthony Armstrong Emery has a love of international property, which prompted him to invest in land in his wife’s country of origin.

This initial investment took place in 2008, and in 2009, EcoHouse Brazil found the right opportunity for use of that property: the Minha Casa, Minha Vida programme being rolled out by the Brazilian government. With that programme, the government seeks to assist its citizens and lessen the effects of the housing shortage that is predicted to be looming in the near future. Analysts expect that, by 2020, the shortage will be as high as 16 million homes. The current Minha Casa, Minha Vida programme calls for the building of 3 million homes, and has unfortunately been plagued by delays.

EcoHouse Group is seeking to streamline the process and avoid these delays by seeking outside investors rather than trying to navigate the red tape surrounding financing by local banks upfront. They have been successful so far, with one development completed called Arco-Iris. Two other developments have also been in the works, Casa Nova Residencial and Bosque Residencial. These developments are unique in that they provide high construction standards for their properties and also feature gated communities. These added security features ensure that residents will be safer. They include guard towers, 24 hour security, and the benefit of a local police department right nearby. EcoHouse Brazil is also seeking to help the community in other ways, launching unique projects like a Brazilian jiu-jitsu dojo to benefit children of the residents provide them with alternative, more positive activities to drug dealing or other potentially dangerous pastimes.
