TheEconomic Development Council of South Miami-Dade was created to assist the southern reaches of the county after the devastation of Hurricane Andrew in 1992. The EDC advocates and supports the retention and expansion of businesses, creation of new job opportunities, workforce training, and smart, sustainable infrastructure projects. We continually keep our local businesses’ and residents’ live, work, play, and pray lifestyle as top-of-mind. The EDC is the single voice representing our growing municipalities, our agricultural industry, tourism, and all 600,000 residents and 20,000 businesses.
