Eddie Kerr
Writer, Teacher, and Consultant in Ireland
I have been bringing out the best in people and ideas for over 25 years. Whether that has happened in tribal lands, sprawling slums, urban classrooms or in virtual landscapes. As a freelance consultant I have worked in over 40 countries and have been involved in many, many exciting and challenging projects. In my toolkit I bring innovation, creativity, analysis, perseverance, impetus, awareness, empathy and energy. I am an accomplished, passionate and dynamic team trainer, coach, and consultant with experience in the fields of leadership, community development, team and capacity building and conflict resolution. I have worked as a college lecturer, business advisor, arts educator and humanitarian aid worker during these years. I am one of those creative writers who needs to write and to date I have written 23 plays and several books of poetry. I believe that training and development is about positive change and people need support to get started on any process of change. In recent years I have focused on peace building projects, intervention and distribution of aid projects, civic engagement and community initiatives in areas coming out of conflict or engaged in areas of conflict. The skills I have learned in the various conflict projects I now bring to my work with the public, private and NGO sectors. My approach to training is interactive, experiential and backed up with both established and emerging theory and a lot of fun (who wants training to be boring). I provide training in leadership, change, performance management, the arts, coaching skills and organisation culture. Knowledge alone is not enough. Facilitated training coupled with coaching and mentoring helps people to be better equipped to work and live life to their full potential. Whether you are a leader in an organisation or a learning and development professional, those that you serve will benefit from your participation in one of my workshops.
