Ed Leatherman

Morgantown, WV

Ed is currently an Assistant Director in West Virginia University’s Office of Information Technology. Since 2003, he has managed Voice over IP services at WVU, including the migration from legacy voice systems to the Cisco Unified Communications platforms. He also provides expertise in the areas of network performance, network management, and high availability on the campus core network. Ed is a member of the campus LAN managers group, and participates in various IT management and governance committees.

Prior to beginning his work with Unified Communications, Ed was a Professional Technologist in the WVU Network Operations group, providing operations support on the network backbone and gaining crucial data networking implementation and network management experience.

Ed graduated summa cum laude with Bachelors of Science degrees in Computer and Electrical Engineering, and earned a Masters of Science degree in Software Engineering, all from WVU. He is also certified under Cisco System's CCIE program; CCIE No. 44695 Routing and Switching.

When not engaged in IT work, Ed can be found around Morgantown running, mountain biking, or strolling around with his digital camera.
