EDGAR SILALAHI

Edgar Silalahi is originally from Indonesia and earned his master’s in business administration from Case Western Reserve Universityin Cleveland, OH. Over his 20+ years’ diversified experience in hospital and charitable business management and financial analysis, Edgar Silalahi has proven his strong work ethic as well as hisvaried technical, organizational, and development skills. Hisprevious successes are due to his expertise in project management and implementation, his proficiency in financial analysis and budget administration, and his problem-solving skills.

As the director of finance for the St. Vincent Charity Hospital in 2004, he not only overhauled the hospital’s financial reporting systems but also saved the hospital hundreds of thousands of dollars in labor costs through a new daily productivity system. He served as the director of strategic planning and business development and then as the director of decision support for the Sisters of Charity Health System, heading several internal studies and analyses to identify untapped progress, cost reduction, and managed care contracting opportunities. He managed and administered their decision support system, standard planning software, and databases as well as worked to create many advancements and improvements in the company’s financial planning. From 2012-2015, Edgar Silalahi spearheaded the St. Vincent Charity Medical Center’s financial department as the director of finance. He successfully managed the center’s operating and capital budgets of $169 million and collaborated to create profited-enhancing strategies that improved the center’s revenue, among many other financial management responsibilities.

Currently, Edgar Silalahi serves as director of corporate finance for the Brooke Grove Foundation, overseeing the company’s financial reporting, budget preparation, business relationships, M&A evaluations, strategic planning, accounting, and more.

He currently resides in Maryland with his wife and two teenaged children. When he’s not working, Edgar Silalahi enjoys working on his car, traveling, and spending time with his family.
