A small company established to help rebuild Christchurch, New Zealand, after the earthquake of February 2011, Edifice Building had an original purpose to provide emergency repairs to structures damaged in the 6.3 magnitude quake. The business started with two carpenters, and since has expanded to become a major company with a successful track record of more than 1,000 repairs. With a current staff of nearly 40 full-time members and 100 contract tradespeople, Edifice continues to rebuild damaged homes for the people of Christchurch, and also currently works for nine Earthquake Recovery (EQR) hubs. Accredited with the Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Authority (CERA), Edifice Building has received large contracts from Arrow International and Hawkins Construction, two of New Zealand's major property development and construction companies.
Edifice Building maintains teams that specialize in interior plastering, painting, bricklaying, and tiling, and also works with carpenters who have extensive experience in earthquake repair, including repiling and repairing ring foundations. A cleaning team ensures that each project receives a professional cleaning, including windows. A demolition and light hauling team clears building waste and also performs light demolition projects
Robert Strickland, Managing Director of Edifice Building, is a skilled manager with more than 10 years experience in the construction industry.
