Liam Johnson
Los Angeles
While earning his degrees in Television Production and the Graphic Arts, Liam started his career in Digital Media. Working to make a name for himself mainly as an editor, he took on work as a Camera Operator, Technical Director & Chyron Generator for a regular Local Sports Telecast. After leaving a position with a Streaming Services upstart he moved on to working with the California Channel as an ENG Camera Operator and Floor Director for their series of political interviews airing on CNN. During all of these non-editorial endeavors he continued to pursue a passion in editing, and quickly gained his reputation as an Editor & Videographer after landing his first major client with the California Department of Health Services. His career seemed to be flourishing... until he decided the type of work (mostly political in nature) was not what he wanted to do. So he packed up his bags and moved to Beverly.... Blvd that is... Los Angeles.
Since moving to Los Angeles in 2008, Liam has moved away from the "Do Everything" mentality and started working towards fulfilling a specific set of goals in his career. The most important of which has been to work on Original Content for the Web. This has lead to numerous collaborations on news content, short films (one of which was a featured pick on Vimeo.com), commercial specs, a few one-off web series, and even cutting for the well known "Ask A Ninja" and "Geek & Sundry" YouTube Channels.
Life threw him the most amazing curve-ball ever when he welcomed his first & only daughter to the world in 2011. Now responsible for more than one mouth, Liam had to rethink how he would approach his goals. Starting with the Editors Retreat in Austin 2012, Liam began working towards the new goal of Learning AVID and officially breaking into the world of Broadcast Television Editing. On his daughters birthday in 2012 Liam finally made inroads, and managed to complete the year working on the final season of American Chopper.
