Before forming Engine Shop in January 2012, Kiernan was the Senior Vice President, Sports for Omnicom's GMR Marketing. At GMR, Kiernan worked across all of GMR's platforms, including: Consulting, Sports, Lifestyle, Mobile, Digital and Music. In addition, he managed and oversaw GMR's New York City office. Kiernan was directly responsible for growing the marketing practice, establishing, implementing new business and sales strategies, marketing plans, programs and objectives for the global agency. Before joining GMR Marketing in July 2009 from Peter Jacobsen Sports (PJS) he was the Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). As Jacobsen's business partner, Kiernan oversaw the agencies sports marketing and corporate consulting practice with a special emphasis in overall brand strategy/management for blue chip companies, athlete representation, global event management/promotion, and the negotiation of complex multi-level/multi-media contracts for sports and entertainment properties. Ed joined Peter Jacobsen Sports in 2000 from Pro Links Sports, Inc. (PLS) where he was the Executive Director for The PGA TOUR's Verizon Classic and Vice President of Southeast Operations based in Tampa, Florida. Before Pro Links Sports, Ed served as the Tournament Director for the PGA TOUR's Canon Greater Hartford Open (GHO) spearheading the sales, marketing and overall operations. Ed began his professional sports career as the Director of Operations for Palm Springs, California based Championship Management Company where he oversaw and consulted on PGA Tour Events.

Throughout Ed's career he has directed sports marketing initiatives with The NFL, MLB, The NBA, NASCAR, The NCAA, The PGA Tour, The USGA, The PGA of America, The LPGA, FIFA, MLS, The IOC and The USOC. He has also consulted for blue-chip global companies. Ed received dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in Sport Business and International Business from University of Mount Union in Alliance, Ohio.
