ED MADISON, Ph.D. teaches media innovation, multimedia journalism, and documentary filmmaking at the School of Journalism and Communication, University of Oregon, where he is an assistant professor and manages media partnerships. He earned his Ph.D. there in 2012. Ed also teaches experimental courses in media and technology for UO’s College of Education He is also an Apple Distinguished Educator and an Adobe Education Leader.
Ed is also a successful entrepreneur with a twenty-eight year track record in major Hollywood-based network and studio production. He was a founding producer for CNN and his own companies have provided services for most of the major networks and studios, including CBS, ABC, A&E, Paramount, Disney, and Discovery. Ed has contributed to the success of many top-rated series that helped to define the lifestyle/travel television genre, including Lifestyles of the Rich & Famous, A&E Top 10 and Entertainment Tonight.
