I retired from the US Army in 2014 after 21 years of service and continue to serve the interests of our nation by working in the heart of the Special Operations community at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.Through my personal travels I have witnessed first-hand how freedom and democracy open up opportunity almost overnight. I firmly believe that through hard work and personal responsibility, it is every American's inheritance and obligation to preserve the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.I am a passionate supporter of Second Amendment Rights and am a North Carolina concealed carry permit holder. As a disabled veteran, I am particularly sensitive to the earned benefits of our nation's most cherished assets - its veterans.I openly advocate State level involvement to enforce our Federal Immigration laws by strictly controlling border access and through effective immigration reform; immigrants founded our great nation, and they have a place in our future to continue to build America's prosperity. As a child of adoption, I know first-hand every unborn child's right to life from the time of conception. On these issues I will never waiver.Having traveled all over the world and experienced a wealth of cultures, I understand the delicate legislative issues involved in dealing with today's current events and the importance of projecting a strong foreign policy. Knowing that the only path to prosperity as a nation is through small government and limited regulation, I have remained a politically-engaged conservative for my entire adult life.It is my strong belief that the purpose of political office is a privilege and honor afforded to very few to serve the citizens. I have dedicated my entire life in the service of our great nation as a combat leader and civil servant, and now wish to serve as a champion for the best interests of the citizens of North Carolina.I have lived in North Carolina for a total of nearly 20 years. My beautiful wife and I have taken part in coaching baseball, soccer and cub scouts with our children within the district. I have been an AUSA and 82nd Airborne Association member. I am a member of the prestigious Sergeant Audie Murphy Club and I have been inducted into the Order of Saint Maurice for lifetime contributions to the US Army Infantry branch.
