I am a business lawyer at Cooley LLP in Silicon Valley. My practice focuses on all aspects of the formation and operation of private investment funds, including venture capital, private equity, fund-of-funds, secondary market, angel and micro-cap funds, and other investment advisory businesses in the United States and internationally. I also represent VC's and angels in their investments in portfolio companies and serve as general outside counsel to a handful of private companies.

I grew up in Minnesota, and I am a Macalester College and University of Michigan Law School alum. I live in San Francisco with my wife and our two young kids. I'm passionate about travel, beer, and music. My wife and I quit our jobs for a year in 2007 to travel, hike, camp and explore parts of Africa and South America.
