Hauppauge, NY

I have been an educator since 1997. While working on my Master's Degree, I began my teaching career as a Computer Instructor at New Horizons Computer Learning Center in Commack, NY. In 1999, after graduating with a Master of Science in Elementary Education from Dowling College, I started teaching 3rd grade in Richmond, VA.

I moved back to NY, and taught at PS 7 in Brooklyn, NY, eventually becoming the school's Technology Coordinator. I also worked at eChalk as a Client Manager for northeast schools and school districts. After eChalk, I was the Educational Technology Administrator at Democracy Prep Charter School in Harlem, NY, where I managed the technology program across 3 schools.

I started working at Custom Computer Specialists, Inc., located in Hauppauge, NY, in 2011 as the Senior Professional Developer developing and delivering Professional Development for schools and school districts in the Northeast US. I am now the Instructional Technology Manager for Custom Computer Specialists, Inc. I manage the company’s Professional Development Group which works with schools and school districts in a coaching / mentoring capacity to identify, develop, and deliver professional development aligned with the Common Core Standards, focused on integrating educational technology in the curriculum. I have been conducting educational technology aligned professional development with educators for almost 11 years. I have worked with multiple schools in the New York City Department of Education implementing and integrating Google Apps, and have worked with teachers in a coaching capacity to implement my methodology for creating student ePortfolios using Google Apps.

I have presented at various conferences and events including ISTE 2013 (iPads as Student Response Systems), NYSCATE Annual Conference 2012 (Google Apps Student ePortfolios), NYSCATE Hudson Valley Conferences 2012 & 2013 (Google Apps Student ePortfolios), multiple NYSCATE Professional Development workshops, Tech Forum NY 2012, PadCampLI 2011 (Google Apps Student ePortfolios), and Google in Education New York Summit 2013 (Google Apps Student ePortfolios).

I love what I do.
