Edward Tashtanbekov

I am an artist and also a free lance translator. I am currently (2012) living in Almaty - Kazakhstan but born and raised in Bishkek in Kyrgyzstan. I usually translate from Kyrgyz/Kazakh/Russian to English, and Japanese but I can also translate a little bit in Urdu/Hindi.

I worked with different organisations for the last 15 years as a free lance translator. These organisations include Asian Development Bank, Pakistan National Bank, World Bank, Save Children, UNICEF, UNAIDS, Mediciens Sans Frontier, World Vision, IHH, UNHCR and many others. I travelled around the world for different conferences and meetings.

I have been painting since I was 11 years old. I was painting before nature and animals but in the last 5-6 years I like to paint surrealistic and abstract. I will have my website with pictures too soon. I also play a little bit music. I play traditional instruments which are popular in Central Asia.

I have four children aged 18, 15, 10, and 8. I want to leave some legacy for them so that they can be proud of me.
