Eduard de Boer
EUDR/EUTR Specialist, Responsible Sourcing, and Supply Chain Due Diligence in Apeldoorn, Nederland
I work at Ingenieursbureau Evan Buytendijk in responsible sourcing, supply chain due diligence and timber legality, with a strong focus on EUDR and EUTR compliance.
I advise companies on due diligence, traceability, risk assessment and the practical implementation of regulatory requirements. A significant part of my work involves tracing supply chains back to their origin, assessing the available evidence and identifying where information is missing or where additional verification and risk mitigation are needed.
I look beyond whether a due diligence system appears convincing on paper. I review supplier documentation, transaction and transport records, forest and origin information, geolocation data and chain-of-custody evidence, and I carry out supplier and production-site audits.
I have worked on timber supply chains in Europe, South America, Africa and Asia and am ISO 19011 Internal Auditor certified. I also work with FSC® and PEFC certification.
I am particularly interested in the point where legislation, supply chains and actual business practice meet. A due diligence system may look convincing on paper, but ultimately the underlying supply chain and evidence have to stand up to scrutiny.
Outside work, I have a broad interest in travel, technology and photography.
