He first discovered tanzanite during a safari in Tanzania, when he was given a large piece of the gemstone by one of his guides as a “thank you” gift for helping with a personal matter. The guide spoke of the beauty of the gemstone, and what it meant to his family—and Edward was enthralled by its brilliance and unique beauty, especially when he saw it set against diamonds and other gemstones in local jewelry stores. On that first trip, Edward returned to the U.S. with a carry-on full of tanzanite jewelry and literature, and from there introduced it to local stores and jewelers in his hometown. He eventually began selling tanzanite jewelry and tanzanite engagement rings at art festivals and online, and now works at Tanzanite Rings HQ, continuing his mission to provide the best tanzanite options in jewelry and rings to the public, while also providing information and updates on this contemporary and amazing gemstone.
