Edward Holl

Edward Holl, the founder and a Managing Partner of Merchants Partners LLC, boasts an impressive career in the financial services industry that spans nearly 30 years. A business-savvy entrepreneur, Edward Holl possesses valuable experience with corporate acquisitions, investments, venture capital, securities trading, public company directorship, real estate development, offshore banking, asset management, and international investment transactions. Edward Holl began his financial career in 1983 when he joined Pasadena, California’s Bateman Eichler, Hill Richards Inc. as a trainee. Three short years later, Edward Holl cofounded the company’s first investment management consulting group, which, by 1989, oversaw upwards of $1 billion in assets for pension funds. Edward Holl left Bateman Eichler, Hill Richards Inc. in 1990 to become a Senior Vice President at Shearson Lehman Brothers and remained with the global financial services firm until 1993. In 1997, Edward Holl established Merchants Partners LLC, a merchant banking and international trading company based in San Francisco, California. Edward Holl also cofounded the firm’s international affiliate, Merchants Partners International Ltd., which operates from Shanghai, China, and maintains an active presence in Germany, Mexico, Switzerland, and Canada. As a Managing Partner of both Merchants Partners LLC and Merchants Partners International Ltd., Edward Holl directs myriad activities related to capital and commercial trading in the United States and abroad. Edward Holl, his business partners, and the members of their teams possess an impressive 400 years of collective experience in international business. Born in Munich, Germany, and raised in Kirchheim, a village situated at the base of the Bavarian Alps, Edward Holl left his homeland and attended a private boarding high school in Canada. Edward Holl next relocated to Los Angeles in 1978 and began working toward his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science at Occidental College. In 1981, Edward Holl completed his junior year at the Institut D'Études Politiques de Paris in France and received a Certificat d'Études Politiques (CEP). Edward Holl graduated from Occidental College in 1982. While employed by Bateman Eichler, Hill Richards Inc. in 1988, Edward Holl earned a Master of Business Administration at the University of California, Los Angeles' Anderson School of Management.
