I’ve always believed that some of the best lessons in life come from showing up, working hard, and treating people well. Those values have followed me through medicine, hockey, music, and nearly every chapter of my life.

Hockey has been part of my story since I was five years old. Growing up in Erie, Pennsylvania, I spent years playing on travel teams, earned an MVP award, competed in Junior A hockey, and eventually received a college scholarship. The sport taught me discipline, teamwork, and how to keep moving forward when things get difficult. Even after my competitive playing years, hockey remained important to me through coaching and opportunities to stay connected to the game.

Medicine became my professional career. After completing medical school and a Family Practice residency, I spent about 30 years caring for patients. I worked with hospitals in Alabama and Arizona before becoming a clinic owner. Over the years, I operated several medical practices, including Southcare Clinic and Recovery Center.

My work in addiction recovery has been especially meaningful. I’ve had the opportunity to support people during some of the most difficult periods of their lives, particularly during early recovery. I learned that sometimes the most important thing you can offer someone is consistency, respect, and the knowledge that another person genuinely cares about what happens to them.

Music has also remained a major part of my life. As Huntsville’s “Rock Doc,” I had the chance to provide medical care for visiting musicians and touring performers, bringing together two worlds I’ve loved for decades.

Today, I’m retired but still connected to Recovery Center. I continue to enjoy hockey, music, golf, trail-bike riding, time with my wife, and opportunities to help others.
