I'm a technology innovator and leader, an entrepreneur, and inventor with a passion for building groundbreaking solutions in AI/ML, wireless networks, streaming media, fintech, and an expert in intellectual property. I hold a PhD, am a Fulbright Scholar, and have 17 issued U.S. patents several of which have been licensed worldwide to major companies including agreements with Verizon, Samsung, Nokia, Ericsson, Dish Wireless/Boost Mobile, Charter Communications/Spectrum Mobile, Apple and T-Mobile.

I founded EGLA CORP and its flagship brand EGLAVATOR, a respected tech incubator and accelerator based in Boca Raton, Florida, that operated prominently from 2017 to 2023. Through EGLA CORP, I invest in and mentor early-stage ventures, and the company was recognized as a finalist in the Go Global Awards 2023, South Florida Tech Hub, and eMerge Americas.

My patented MEVIA platform (formerly Mediamplify) integrates interactive web widgets into live TV streams and powered Mood Media's DMX solution during its $16M acquisition by Stingray Digital in 2014. Today, I've evolved MEVIA into MEVIA OS – a zero-friction platform that transforms the web into a full operating system, complete with the MEVIAVERSE ecosystem of apps.

As an Intellectual Property expert, I've supported more than 45 patent and IP litigation cases, including trial testimony, and regularly provide expert witness services in mobile, wireless, and software technologies. Including awards of $700K, $20M, $190M, and multi-million dollar settlements

My career includes key roles at two industry giants:

• Motorola, Principal Staff Engineer, leading the Java Virtual Machine development for iDEN/CDMA devices and early Android phones, while contributing to technology licensing and valuations.
• Microsoft, Windows Networking team and contributed to Wi-Fi Wireless Zero Configuration, a feature still used globally.

I actively give back to the tech community as a member of multiple IEEE technical committees and journal editorial boards, and serve on Florida Atlantic University’s Industry Advisory Board. I also judged 5G teach at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona (2019 & 2020) and host TECHEDTV, a podcast exploring emerging technologies.

I am originally from Honduras, went to High School at the "Instituto Salesiano San Miguel" but moved to Costa Rica in 1991 to start a BS in Electronics Engineering at the "Tecnologico de Costa Rica" that I completed in 1995. I did my thesis in Radiografica Costarricense learning a lot about X.25 and the Internet. Upon my return to Honduras, I was hired by COMTELCA in Tegucigalpa, Honduras where I worked from 1995 thru 1997, in that time I was also the founder of COMPUNET S. de R. L an Internet Service Provider in Honduras and IT Solutions company. My digital ID was "int21h"

In 1997, I moved to Gainesville, FL to attend the University Florida, where I met great friends, volunteer as the 1st generation of "The Entrepreneurs Club," and completed an MS in Electrical and Computer Engineering and a Ph.D in 1999 and 2002 respectively, publishing several papers and filed two patents that are now issued. As a student to Dr. Sumi Helal, I also help him with Phoneomena, and won a Business Plan competition with some partners from TEC, a company that was able to raise over 100K in funding.

In August 2002, I moved to Redmond, WA and worked for Microsoft, a company I was familiar as an intern, but in 2003 moved to Plantation to work for Motorola, where I spent over 7 years developing mobile software.

In 2009, I became a founder of "Honduras Global" a group of successful Honduras abroad, where I have been speaker for "First Tuesday," "Mobile Monday Miami," and many other events.

Since 2011, I have been the Owner and Founder at EGLA COMMUNICATIONS and developed a great platform called MEDIAMPLIFY, MEVIA, DEMOLIZER, and otehr productsfor music and video distribution

Single, not yet married, Catholic who has strong faith and thanks God for all the blessings I have been able to receive, including my sisters, my brother, my parents, and being able to see all drawbacks and successes as gifts from God.
