Eric Folks, M. Ed. Tech.
Teacher, Social Media Manager, and Director in Lampasas, Texas
First and foremost, I have three loving, scrappy boys (17, 16, 9) and an amazing, supportive wife of nineteen years, who is also a passionate educator (currently serving as a Digital Learning Coach).
After eight years teaching English at the secondary level in Canyon, TX, in the fall of 2010, I had the great opportunity to move to Lampasas, TX and become Lampasas I.S.D.'s first-ever, Instructional Technology Coordinator.
The culmination of a multi-year transformation effort was a district-wide, 1:1 technology initiative for grades 5-12 that began in the 2015-2016 school year.
That same year, I was honored to be given the great task of leading this effort, which we called the iBadger iPad Initiative, under the new title of Mobile Learning Specialist.
Two years later, I had an extraordinary opportunity to join Round Rock ISD as an Assistant Director of Instructional Technology. Together with another Assistant Director and the Director of Instructional Technology, I have the great privilege of working with and supporting an incredible team of 57 Instructional Technology Specialists, who support and serve 55 campuses, approximately 6100 staff, and 50,000 students.
