My name is Freedom Ememandu and I am currently studying Information Technology with Business Intelligence (MSc).
I am running for the office of the Student Union’s Vice President, International.
Vote me as your 1st Choice for Vice-President, International.
My first objective will be to work with course leaders, school leaders and class representatives in implementing innovative ways of organizing effective study groups. This comes in handy for international students who face various travel issues such as visa delays and other exigencies that comes with moving into a new town and/or country.
Secondly, I will work with the Executive Committee in implementing identified strategies for getting more international students involved in our societies, especially sports.
My third objective is expediting the full integration of newly arrived international students into the school environment. This involves but is not limited to, organizing welcome parties and hangouts for respective communities identified in RGU (Robert Gordon University), organizing a city-tour to quickly get the new students familiarized with Aberdeen as fast as possible and producing high resolution short how-to videos on essentials such as ‘getting started with maps, bus routes and bus numbers and ticketing.’
Lastly, I will be organizing cultural weeks, best during the summer, when students could come to school in their respective native attire, adding more colour to the richly diverse community in RGU.
