Dr. Eike Blohm is a highly motivated emergency medicine physician and medical toxicologist. He is a problem solver with a proven track record of growing UVMMC’s Emergency Medicine Research Associate Program to three times its size and increased the research output by 40% within a year.
Dr. Blohm received a Bachelor of art in human biology from the University of Montana and graduated from Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in 2012.
He received UVMMC’s Healthcare Hero Award in 2018 and 2019 and a “Great Catch” award for outstanding diagnostics at CVPH hospital in New York. Dr. Blohm also provides telemedicine services through the Northern New England Poison Center. As EM Clerkship Director, he created interactive online learning modules that were shared with multiple institutions during the COVID-19 pandemic, allowing for continued remote medical education. In light of the pandemic, he produced “intubation boxes,” 3D-printed face shields, and N95 masks to keep doctors and nurses safe from the virus.
Dr. Eike Blohm is a strong advocate for patients who present to the ED for mental illness and has created the SPEAK pathway (Suicide Prevention with ED-Administration of Ketamine) that improves the care and patient experience of patients who seek psychiatric care.
He possesses various EMR proficiencies and nurtures a growing interest in telemedicine.
