Dr. Jon Ivar Einarsson engages with Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH) in Boston as the director of its Division of Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery (MIGS). Focused on physician referrals, Dr. Jon Einarsson handles complex and challenging cases that are not typically candidates for minimally invasive surgery.

With extensive advanced laparoscopic experience, Dr. Einarsson is able to undertake minimally invasive gynecologic surgery even in situations involving significant medical comorbidities and complex pathologies. As the founder of the MIGS fellowship program at BWH, he also instructs medical students, residents, and fellows in leading-edge laparoscopic techniques.

Originally from Reykjavik, Dr. Jon Ivar Einarsson received his MD from the University of Iceland and completed his OB/GYN residency in the late 1990s at Landspitali University Hospital. He subsequently pursued an OB/GYN residency at Baylor College of Medicine, where he also completed a MIGS fellowship in 2004. For nearly a decade, he has held consulting staff responsibilities with Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
