I am a research fellow at the University of Oslo, writting a phd thesis on the Norwegian Shipping Industry in the interwar period. The thesis focuses on innovation processes in the shipping sector, and will be published as a monograph in 2013. Before joining the research project on Norwegian Merchant Shipping, I was a research fellow at the Institute for Social Research (Oslo, Norway), where I co-authored a monograph on the history of the Norwegian retail sector. I presently hold masters degrees in both Economic History (London School of Economics) and Sociology (University of Oslo) and have published on a wide range of topics, including methodology, network based economic organisations, and vertical integration.
I have thought courses in economics, economic history, labour market economics, statistics, bargaining theory and organisational theory at various Norwegian educational institutions. When teaching I have generally prefered involving students through using case methodology, most often drawing upon my own research into the historical development of economic organisations.
