Ajumma is a word in Korean used to describe a married, middle-aged woman. In Korean, we say there are three genders: male, female, ajummas. They are a class of their own, known for their fierceness, busybodiness, extreme love for their children, audacity and their wonderful cooking skills.

As a Korean wife, mother and career woman, I want to embrace the ajumma-ness without the negative connotations that this world holds. A blend of Canadian culture and Korean culture is what I strive to attain and pass on to my child(ren) in the future.
