Real Word of Mouth was born out of my frustration with crowd-sourced reviews. Consumers contend with fake and anonymous reviews, and business owners are at the mercy of review sites. Today's review sites feel like a game, with a lot of time wasted trying to figure out what's real and what's not, or how to protect yourself from clients and the review sites themselves (like Yelp) if you're a business owner.

Sure, you could send emails to people you know, or post on your favorite social network like Facebook or Nextdoor asking for recommendations. But try finding those responses again later, or sorting, categorizing and making sense of them, or finding missing contact information - this can quickly turn into a time-consuming exercise.

There has to be a better way - and now there is.
