Edward Jones

I am a technical and experienced help desk analyst working for a media company in NYC. I've been working Help Desk/Desktop Support (Tier 1/Tier 2) for the last 3 years. I have ambitions to move into a System Administrator role as well as expanding my knowledge and love of technology.

I Graduated college with a BT in Computer System Technology, specializing in database administration, network administration, and network security. I spent time before that finding my place in IT with different choices of majors. I was a CS major for a couple of years and learned the basics of programming and the logic behind a program and how one works. I spent a year as a engineering student studying very basic engineering classes.

On my time off I spend time checking out new gadgets, playing video games on my PC/Xbox/PS3 etc, working and learning about linux distros, learning windows powershell and scripting. I play a variety of video games in my spare time mainly when I am playing games I play WoW at the moment.

I've spent a lot of time working my knowledge up in IT and playing with new gadgets and OSs to broaden my knowledge. I spent 2 years with the Department of Ed here in NYC first as a intern then as a consultant learning imaging and more of my basic and advanced break fix skills, as well as troubleshooting skills. When I changed over to my new company I started off as a technician just helping with the Windows 7 migration and 9 months later moved to the Help desk analyst role. From there I have stayed in that role and expanded out with more administrative work, documentation writing, and different projects.
