Erik Kaarla is an educator with experience in teaching music, English, and specifically writing in a variety of environments including the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, Pine Manor College, Burlington College, Community College of Vermont, Champlain College, and Saint Michael’s College. He currently resides in Burlington, Vermont with his wife Deborah and children Abigail and Joshua. Erik enjoys writing creative nonfiction and he also is engaged in covering local education issues and trends. He holds an MA in professional writing from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and an M.Ed. from the University of Vermont.
