Andi El-Saieh

Student, Volunteer, and Artist in White Plains, NY

Hello, I’m Andi. I’m apart of Class of 2027, and I majoring in Psychology. My goal is to be a school psychologist in Westchester county. I work full time as a waitress and bartender at the Bronx Burger House in Bronx, Riverdale, NY. In high school, I was the president of the Science Fiction club, and an officer for the Class of 2023. I own a 10 y/o dog named Trippy who’s my partner in crime. He’s within at all times in my personal life. Pre-covid we used to volunteer at White Plains Hospital and other locations together.

I am very passionate about community service, and have planned and executed multiple community building and support events for Bronx Riverdale. I have even won multiple awards in recognitions of the support I’ve provide to the Bronx, such as the Empire State Award, Bronx Chamber of Commerce Award, and was named on my job‘s Most Valuable Merchant Award.

Despite only being on campus for 2 weeks, I’ve already gotten involved. I have joined 5 clubs, including OnePace, The Nature Club, WPaw, the Book Club and POWER. So if you attend any of their event’s you’ll see met there.

As a commuter student I understand how difficult it is to attend events. Often event are late at night or are two early for commuters to attend. I will work on making events mid-day when the shuttle is running, and if they run late, having club be able to apply for a late night shuttle For commuters. I also think attending clubs is important for all students. I would like to work towards having common hour class free for all students, and having common hour 5 days a week instead of three. This would allow a social hour where all students can interact and attend events that interest them.
