Bibliophile, educator, foodie, writer, traveler, tech toy tinkerer, and wistful cyclist.

My first career was as a programmer/systems analyst. My second career was as a university professor (computer science, writing, literature, and some math). That led me into online and alternative ways of learning. That led me back to corporate America for stints in various organizations, always in professional development and professional learning, and always working with great people to try to discover and implement ways to help educators continue to improve their crafts.

I believe that because of my work as a systems analyst, I've learned to be a good listener and that I've honed my skills in asking good follow-up questions as well as distilling all of the ideas that often come blasting from people seeking solutions to something akin to a workable possibility.

I believe in possibilities.

I believe in creativity.

I believe in the power of encouragement and laughter, though not always in that order.

I believe in the exquisite sensation of learning and discovery of a talent or skill or ability.

I believe in the goosebump-inducing moment of a child's realization that he or she can and that shivery sensation of that child's absolute delight in their discovery.

I believe in the power of potential.
