Here are some fun facts about me...

-I like listening to Christmas music in the summer

Many people would disagree with my choice of music in the summer. However, I feel that my interest of music, particularly Christmas music in the summer, showcases my openness and welcoming personality.

-Being able to twist the head off of a pineapple is an ability that I am proud of

Growing up, I have been told numerous times that I am not enough to do a certain thing, not strong enough, etc. Now I am not looking for any sympathy or anything like that... Taking the criticism and negativity that I have received, I have learned to turn it into fuel for motivation and determination.

-My favorite fruits are dragon fruit and passion fruit

There used to always be a pressure to fit in with my peers, at least for me. For example, in middle school, if someone asked what people's favorite snacks were and everyone said goldfish, then I would feel obligated to also say goldfish when my favorite snack is actually hot cheetos. I spent a good time wondering why I felt this way. Why did it matter to middle school me that my favorite snack was not the same as everyone else's? I was scared of being the odd one out and of being seen as different.

But being different is how everyone is unique. Our differences are what make us who we are.

As I continue to grow, embracing my differences, I look forward for the what the future has in store for me.
