I nurture a long term love in Medicine and Mathematics. I have a keen interest in the field of neurobiology and in challenging open problems mainly related to brain diseases. The driving force for my scientific endeavours is to achieve a physics-oriented contribution in the field of brain diseases and to target real medical problems.
My scientific background is quite diverse and interdisciplinary. My research stands at the interface between Biomedicine and Mathematics. I am a computational neuroscientist and my research focuses on hippocampal dynamics involved in the processes of learning and memory, and on the etiopathology of neurodegenerative diseases. For my endevours I have used mostly theoretical methods but also experimental approaches.
