The 1st Bangalore ACM SIGGRAPH Conference

Theme
The theme for ‘elements 2011’, the first annual conference of Bangalore ACM SIGGRAPH, is ‘beyond today, tomorrow’. The focus of this conference is three fold:
- Bring the best of research and development happening today that will form the defining moment tomorrow, not only for Computer Graphics but Computing in general, and hence the theme, ‘BEYOND TODAY, TOMORROW’.
- Bring together thought leaders from industry and academia to talk about the innovation happening today that will define the future, tomorrow.
- Bring together enthusiasts consisting of researchers, technologists, gamers, artists, developers, filmmakers, scientists, practitioners, market movers and other professionals who share an interest in computer graphics and interactive techniques.

Format
The first edition of ‘elements 2011’ will have six invited talks and two workshops in the area of computer graphics and interactive techniques, consisting of
- core topics: modeling, animation, rendering, and imaging
- related areas: hardware/GPU, information/scientific visualization, human-computer interaction, computer vision, and applications such as film special effects and computer games.
This list is not exhaustive. One or two talks may focus on general topics, though, relevant to the community.
‘elements 2011’ is co-located with Compute 2011, the annual ACM Bangalore signature conference.
