Elena Buchkovskaya

Manhattan resident Elena Buchkovskaya currently works as an Interior Designer for a New York City design and architectural firm. Elena Buchkovska strives to stay true to one of her favorite quotes from Steve Jobs: "Sell a dream, not a product." She applies this inspiring guidance to her designs. Visual inspiration also plays a big role in Buchkovskaya’s design approach. Different locations carry different ideas, which make every one of her designs unique. Travel experiences have been a great part of Elena Buchkovskaya's inspiration as well. In the words of St. Augustine, “The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page.” For Buchkovskaya, this “book” is an inspirational book that leads her toward creativity. At the age of 6 and 7, Elena Buchkovskaya spent several springs in Dushanbe, now the capital of Tajikistan, visiting her grandmother; she remembers markets full of colorful fruits and vegetables and beautiful silk fabric and rugs. Elena Buchkovskaya’s Europe traveling brings her other ideas. Unusual shapes inspired by nature everywhere you look at Barcelona’s Park Gaudi and Gaudi’s La Sagrada Familia “makes you open up the doors to infinite creativity and proves that there are no limits to imagination,” says Elena Buchkovskaya. She also loves the soft elegance of Provence in the South of France with its lavender and sunflower fields comfortably coexisting with modern windmills, creating modernized look. Locally, Buchkovskaya loves visiting Wölffer Estate Vineyards in the Hamptons for inspiration. Working closely with her clients from start to finish, Elena Buchkovskaya begins by preparing floor and lighting plans, color schemes, and furniture layouts. After preparing budget estimates, Buchkovskaya creates specification documents and places all orders regarding materials, merchandise, and labor. She maintains constant contact with the project until its official completion. Throughout her career, Elena Buchkovskaya has worked extensively with Pioneer Building Development in Wainscott, New York, as an Interior Assistant and Consultant. She was in charge of all material choices and provided visual presentations of each project. Before earning the title of Interior Designer, Elena Buchkovskaya gained experience as an Interior Design Assistant for F.E.M. Building and Development and an Interior Design and Personal Assistant for 30 West Design. Gaining invaluable professional experience in the field of interior design with each firm, she ad
